Yes Virgil, You Need a Shoe Wardrobe. Don’t even try to tell me you don’t have a couple of these lurking in your closet… because I know that you do! Or worse, these awful rubber soled square toed beauties you call dress shoes.
It’t time to go shoe shopping gentlemen! And I am going to make it easy! Here are my shoe tips for spring, with links to buy from my favorite on line store Zappos.
Because the selection is amazing, the sorting ability gets you to just where you want to be asap – by size, style, material, color and more. Because the customer service is terrific – and there is NO shipping costs either to you or return. So when in doubt, order BOTH sizes and return the other.
Shoe # 1 – invest in a high quality black lace up, and then wear them. Perforated Wing tip or Sleek plain Cap toe – either are fine. Choose the very best quality you can. A $300 plus shoe will last you two or three times longer than a suit that costs three times that much.
Shoe # 2 – Absolutely have a great brown or English tan lace up Again, your preference can be more detailed or more simple, or an amazing pair of Monk straps – they are all good. Any way you choose these brown shoes run the gambit from your grey suit to your jeans.
Shoe # 3 – A pair of bucks or saddle shoes Suede or colorful leather bucks are the must have shoe for adding style to your more casual Spring and Summer wardrobe. Here are one, two and three pairs to choose from – each one righteous (!!) with cotton or linen suiting, khakis, and tailored shorts.
Choose at least one of # 4 – A pair of loafers or driving mocs or top siders These slip on’s are not for work, but sure are easy for casual. I like top siders instead of sandals all day long. Overwhelmed? Call me!
